Dr Joe Lewels is an independent researcher, speaker and author on issues related to new science and its connection to spirituality, human origins, extraterrestrial intelligence, ancient civilizations, comparative religions, human contact with non-human intelligences, the true nature of reality, and other New Age issues. He holds a Ph.D. in journalism and mass communication from the University of Missouri and an M.S. in education from Troy State University. He served as associate professor with tenure and chairman of the departments of journalism and mass communication at the University of Texas at El Paso from 1972 to 1982. He has spent the past 23 years working as an international financial advisor and the past 13 years conducting independent research into New Age issues. He is the author of Uses of the Media by the Chicano Movement (Praeger Publishing Co. 1973), The God Hypothesis: Extraterrestrial Intelligence and its Implications for Science and Religion (Wildflower Press, 1997, second edition 2005), as well as numerous scholarly articles on a wide variety of social issues. He served as editor of the Freedom of Information Digest at the University of Missouri and as editor of the U.S. Army Aviation Digest, at Ft. Rucker, AL. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and as a reconnaissance pilot in the Republic of South Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Air Medal with oak leaf cluster. He is also certified by the American Institute of Hypnotherapy as a hypnotherapist and as a past-life regression therapist.
