Dominions

The Dominions are one of the nine choirs of Angels, and belong to the 'second sphere.' "The dominions are the heavenly beings who govern the activities of all the angelic groups lower than they are. Divine bureaucrats, they also serve to integrate the spiritual and the material worlds. Although they take their orders from God, and rarely contact individuals, their work is connected to your reality." (Ask Your Angels).

The Dominions are often called the Angels of Justice and Mercy. They are a group of angels in Christianity who help keep the world in proper order. They are part of the third rank of the angelic hierarchy, along with the seraphim and the cherubim. They have a dual role of delivering God's justice into unjust situations and showing mercy toward human beings.

Dominions carry out God's judgments against sinful situations in this fallen world, but they also keep in mind God's original intent and purposes for his creation. They work to do what's truly best in difficult circumstances, even though humans may not understand. For example, they destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, two ancient cities that were full of sin, but they also warned and helped the righteous people living there to escape.

Dominions also act as channels of mercy for God's love to flow to people. They express God's unconditional love at the same time as they express God's passion for justice. They balance love and truth in every decision they make, following God's example. One of the ways they show mercy is by answering the prayers of leaders around the world who seek wisdom and guidance from God.

Archangel Zadkiel, the angel of mercy, is a leading Dominions angel. Some people believe that he is the angel who stopped Abraham from sacrificing his son Isaac at the last minute, by providing a ram for the sacrifice. Others believe that it was God himself in angelic form.
