John Alexander
John B. Alexander is a retired United States Army colonel, author, and UFO researcher. He has a Ph.D. in education from Walden University and has been a leading advocate for the development of non-lethal weapons and of military applications of the paranormal. He has written and lectured on UFOs and characterizes his career as having "evolved from hard-core mercenary to thanatologist".
Alexander was born in New York in 1937 and enlisted in the Army as a private in 1956. He rose through the ranks to become a colonel of Infantry in 1988 when he retired. During his varied career, he held many key positions in special operations, intelligence, and research and development. From 1966 to 1969 he commanded Special Forces “A” Teams in Vietnam and Thailand.
Alexander was interested in esoteric techniques such as neuro-linguistic programming, with which he hoped to create "Jedi warriors". He also explored the subject of remote viewing, a form of extrasensory perception that allows a person to perceive distant or hidden objects or events. He founded the Advanced Theoretical Physics Project, an informal group of government officials and defense industry experts who investigated the UFO phenomenon.
Alexander has published several books on UFOs, such as UFOs: Myths, Conspiracies, and Realities (2011) and Reality Denied: Firsthand Experiences with Things that Can't Happen - But Did (2017). He argues that UFOs are real but complex and that there is no government cover-up or conspiracy. He also claims that he has had personal experiences with paranormal phenomena, such as poltergeists, shapeshifters, and healing.
Alexander is a pioneer in the field of remote viewing and UFO research, who has challenged the assumptions of conventional science with his unconventional approach. He has contributed to the understanding of these phenomena from both a military and a scientific perspective.
