Babaji
Babaji is one of the Ascended Masters. Some believe he was Jesus' main teacher. Many sources confirm that Jesus spent time studying in Egypt, Persia and in India. Some of them claim he was a pupil in Babaji's ashram. Some other sources, however, point out that the current ashram in Herakhan (also spelled Haidakan), was only founded in the 4th Century AD. The Ashram still exists near the city of Haldwani, in Northern India.
Babaji is one of the 'Immortals' who still walks the face of the Earth and has done so for at least the last 2000 years. He materializes and dematerializes, and on occasions takes the body of a young man. Many people who visit his ashram, do get to meet him. All are charmed by the witty sense of humor he displays while teaching. The last time he was incarnate was from 1970 till 1984. Some claim that at this moment, he already started a new incarnation in Tibet.
His name means 'Revered Father.' He ascended on February, 14th (Valentine's Day).
Some of his more famous students include Jesus Christ, Paramahansa Yogananda, Sri Yukteswar, Lahiri Mahasaya, Leonard Orr and Sondra Ray ('inventors' of Rebirthing), ... to name but a few.
