Brian Ostrowski, Ph.D. ( Vietnam ) is an historian of medieval and early modern Southeast Asia who since 2002 has taught courses in history, literature, and rhetoric at the Vietnam National University in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City . He earned a Ph.D. in history from Cornell University in 2006 and a B.A. degree in Asian Studies at Claremont McKenna College in 1996. Dr. Ostrowski´s dissertation focused on the introduction of Catholic theology and ritual practice into seventeenth-century Vietnamese society. He is currently completing the first English translation of Lê dynasty Vietnam ´s royal chronicles, the ?a.i Vie^.t Su+? Ký Toàn Thu+, first published in 1697. Dr. Ostrowski´s research focuses on the theme of spiritual change in the history of Southeast Asia and seeks to utilize the modern insights of exopolitics to better understand the region´s past. A member of the Association for Asian Studies, he promotes exopolitical awareness throughout Southeast Asia both in academia as well as at the grassroots. Dr. Ostrowski is an organizer of galactic diplomacy events in the region and believes that Southeast Asia has an important role to play in humanity´s awakening to its place in the wider cosmos.
