Proxima Centauri
Proxima Centauri is the name of one of the three stars (!) that make up Alpha Centauri. Alpha Centauri consists of Alpha Centauri A and B, which are a close binary star system, and Alpha Centauri C, which is gravitationally bound to A and B. Alpha Centauri C is closest to Earth, at 4.24 light years, and is therefore often referred to as Proxima Centauri.
In April 2016, a first exoplanet was discovered in the habitable zone of Proxima Centauri. This planet was given the name Proxima Centauri b (or Alpha Centauri Cb). By March 2022, three exoplanets have been discovered. In 2020, we received radio signals from Proxima Centauri. The debate about the nature of those radio signals is ongoing. There are - as yet unconfirmed - rumors sicne December 2023 that the James Web Space Telescope has found "city lights" on Proxima Centauri b.
Wendelle Stevens mentions the case of 'Monsieur Y' who was contacted by inhabitants of a planet 'Baavi' which is in orbit around Centauri Proxima. In 1944-1945, he would have spent two months with them on their planet. (Contactee Elizabeth Klarer tells a similar story about visiting a planet in the Alpha Centauri system, called Meton)).
Joshua Stone tells the story of a German man, Horst Fenner, who claims that he had a UFO encounter, while travelling in the Amazon jungle in Bolivia in 1976. He was approached by two Caucasian blond men who told him they were coming from a planet that circles Centauri Proxima.
