Worst hit was the office in the front room, where virtually nothing survived. The stereo, including a Technics direct drive turntable and a CD player, a laptop with accompanying keyboard, mouse and monitor, a laser printer, a classical concert guitar, a kettle, the ceiling lights, etc.
Several other items that initially seemed to have survived, died within weeks. Those include a cell phone, a hard disk, PC loudspeakers...
Some of the items cannot be replaced because there are no equivalents in South Africa. That is the case for the classical guitar, the HiFi, and the record player. For those, the wish list contains (cheaper) alternatives.
